DO NOT go to Steves Automotive unless you are willing to pay a ridiculous amount for the smallest tasks! My experience with Steves automotives has been nothing but a scam! I went into the shop to replace a drive selector switch on my 2013 F150, and was quoted at $430 to replace it. This was $290 for the part, that was only a $57 part at autozone. Keep in mind this part is plastic and has lasted 11 years already until it went bad. I was told that the part they wanted to put in was "high quality" THIS IS A PIECE OF PLASTIC THAT IS A BUTTON, WAS IT MADE OF GOLD?! I then looked at the labor fee which was another $100 and then a $40 tax! I decided to put the part in myself for $57 and it took me 5 minutes to pop it out and plug in a new one, super easy. So I saved myself $373 for a job that took 5 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous and this place is a total scam 1/10!

Don’t go here for repairs. They charge a crazy amount for labor and if you search around, you can get a way better deal. I’ve learned that the hard way. I’m sure I was targeted because I am a woman. discrimination at its best.

Appointment scheduled at 10:30 for an oil change (car was dropped off in advance 30 minutes prior to appointment start) and car wasn’t ready until 2:40, no follow up or updates to customer on what’s wrong or to gain approval (minor issue), and once approved was quoted 30 minutes to complete/repair and 2 hours later it was finally completed while every other car showed up after my appointment scheduled and left before my car was done. No care or concern about the impact to the customer or clear communication. Also, please for the safety of your patrons, stop sharing/confirming their personal address and phone number in front of all your store!!!! “Has anything changed since your last visit” will help protect your customers.

I've been taking our Dodge Ram and Honda Fit to Steve's Clearfield for about 3 years now after a traumatizing experience with another Layton shop up the highway... So far, I've been really pleased with Steve's- they have been honest, competent, and genuine with me- I've only had good experiences with them.They send me coupons I use for oil changes on the truck, and then they let me know if there's a coupon available for other services I require, and they have a convenienct Uber service also if you don't want to wait. James especially, is very personable and knowledgeable, and really everyone I've interacted with at their front desk has been a straight shooter with me, which is a welcome experience when you have to do auto servicing. Their mechanics have been straight shooters with me, also, and have been better diagnosticians than other shops we've used. They have had better communication than previous shops I've used, and their prices have been better even. We are happy customers of Steve's Clearfield.
