UPDATE: this shop also told me my control arms were cracking. After leaving I took my car to a different shop who took a look and assured me everything was just fine. Sure my car could use preventative maintenance before next winter but it’s nothing near what this place said. This place is a scam This was my second oil change here, and it turned into a really concerning experience. When I came back 5 months later, the mechanic told me my oil filter was missing a necessary piece and implied I must have gone somewhere else. I didn’t.. this shop did my last oil change. So not only was my car not put back together correctly, but I was also told a cheap filter had been used. That’s unacceptable for something as basic as an oil change. Mistakes happen, but trying to deflect responsibility instead of owning it is a red flag. I trusted them with my car and paid for a service that clearly wasn’t done properly. As a woman who isn’t in the automotive industry, situations like this are especially uncomfortable. You’re relying on honesty and expertise, and instead I felt misled. They eventually made it right, but the lack of accountability and attention to detail is enough for me not to come back. I wouldn’t recommend trusting them with your vehicle.

I recommend these guys as I had taken other vehicles to them in the past. Unfortunately they crashed and burned this time. Took my sister’s car here to have some simple repairs made with oil leaks. They recommend other work to be done and replace a turbo. I helped pay for the repairs as it was expensive. I get it they have to make money too. But after the repairs were made more issues came up then we had to begin with. They kept saying they would fix it but after each time the issue got worse because of them. This last time they disconnected the turbo hoses and never reconnected them cause major problems. Tried to get them to make it right but don’t think they even care to. They have become one of the worst shops now in my opinion. Would not recommend these guys ever again to anyone.

Very good mechanics, I've been to them multiple times now for mostly routine maintenance. Very accommodating paying for Uber wherever you need to go and picking up and delivering car to your home. They have a Costco contract giving Costco members 15% off. I don't and won't go anywhere else.

Absolute 10 for sure. We've been with you guys for a long time and our kids go to you as well. You're thorough and service oriented. With us living in another county, you guys have always worked to accommodate our transportation issues. It's difficult to find good service these days but you guys exceed the mark. 11 out of 10.

Refused to quote me a price over the phone I'd heard good things about Steve's. I need a specific (not uncommon) a/c repair and called to get a price estimate. The guy on the phone was polite but did all kinds of phone gymnastics to avoid giving me a quote--telling me to "just bring it down, we'll take a look" I told him I just want to know what he'd charge for this specific job. After more gymnastics, I flat out asked- "so are you refusing to give me a quote over the phone?" Yes was his answer. I understand he wants people to spend their time to come to him blind with no idea of what the work might cost. But I'm looking for a mechanic that can give price estimates for a specific job, even if they give a disclaimer that new/other stuff might be found--no problem, that's normal. But refusing to give a quote / estimate for specific job is not.

AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COST... Last week I went in to get my wheel bearing replaced on my Tacoma, and the shop found a leak in my steering rack while in the shop. Since I love my truck I said sure let's go ahead and replace both while I'm hear. Toby, the gentleman working the front desk came across as a very genuine and kind person so I trusted what he quoted me at and went ahead with the work. After chatting with a few buddies in the auto repair industry it came to my attention that their quote of a "multi-day install" for my rack was blown waaayyy out of proportion as no shop could justify any time over 5-6 hours of labor. My original quote for labor alone was somewhere around $2,300. Every other shop I talked to in the valley couldn't get the bill for labor higher than around $900, something wasn't lining up. I produced multiple quotes, and labor estimates from systems that about every shop uses in the state to show Toby that they were hosing me on labor. After some back and forth, with Toby trying to keep my bill at a ridiculous price by adding on BS warranties etc I told them I was going to the Consumer Protection Bureau. Eventually after half a day of back and forth and STAYING FIRM they accepted that their labor time was way above what was warranted for the job, and dropped the labor cost down to somewhere in the $700 range. Being able to drop the labor from over 2k to around 700 is a perfect example of how this shop cannot be trusted in the slightest. My original bill with them was around 3,700 before signing up for a Costco membership to get 500 off, I left paying around $2,300. Something shady is going on with this shop.
