Best, most kind and helpful mechanic shop I’ve ever come across!! Here’s our amazing story: We were in town for the Ragnar. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a 200 mile relay with teams of 12 runners who take turns running different segments of the course that can last up to 24 consecutive hours. I had half our team... 6 teenage runners in my suburban. Just two hours into the race, my car broke down. It was 4:30 on a Friday afternoon and I was in the middle of nowhere with no cell reception. A race official was driving by and arranged for a tow truck. I was able to talk to the tow truck dispatcher to explain the problem and he said he would send a mechanic with the tow truck. Expertec is who came. The mechanic/driver assessed the situation, got the car running on the spot and said it needed some additional work. Then he said, “I could tow you, but I’d have to charge you for that. It’ll run now and you could get it to our shop and that would be faster. Come now and we can take care of you.” So, I drove directly there. The shop was closed by this time, but they got right to work anyway and fixed the problem quickly. It wasn’t a permanent fix because the parts places were all closed but they said it would get us through the race. Then they wished us well, didn’t charge us for the fix, and recommended we get it looked at during business hours at a mechanic closer to our home sometime next week. They had nothing to gain to help us, but they did it anyway. We got back to the race and it worked out just fine for our team to do well in the race. Great people! Trustworthy people!! I highly recommend them!

I brought my van in for a coolant leak, they ended up quoting me over 2000 dollars for repairs (the van probably isnt even worth that much). did not end up getting the repairs went somewhere else and paid half the price the quotes me . while I was there I bought the car care because it was such a nice price. just went in for a simple oil change and randy found multiple things wrong.. stating if he started the old change he may end up needing to change the whole oil pan and multiple other things... knowing that they where way overpriced for things like that I just said never mind and went and got my car.. driving home my clock lights arent fully functioning now and my brake light is out which was not the case before... when I confronted them about it they stated all they did was lift the car up... but for some reason I have a 45 point safety inspection document of all the things they checked with pictures... I'm worried more things might come up wrong. THEY ALSO DID NOT SEEM TO CARE ABOUT MY CONCERNS. DONT GO HERE THEY ARE A RIP OFF!!!

Doug's is the best repair shop in Santa Clara. I was on vacation and staying in town and my bike rack was broken. He welded it up and had me on the road in no time. Thanks Doug!

Would not recommend this auto shop to anyone. Prices are a joke! needed to have my cars injectors replaced, it was going to cost $1500! To replace 6 injectors?!? They were gonna rip me off! No way it was going to be that much! I had another shop fix it for way less. This shop needs to re think there prices.

I was told my car would be done by Friday. Friday came and I didn't hear anything and so I called them and they said it would be done by the following Tuesday. So Tuesday came and I called them and they said I could pick it up that night. When I dropped by, the place was closed and I could see my car on the lift through the window. I called them the next morning and they again said it would be in the lot that night. I went by that night and it was in the corner of the lot with three cars around it, making it impossible to get. So I called them the following morning and they said they would move the cars around so it would be available to for me after work. I came back after work and the car was STILL cornered. I dropped by the next morning and had them get it for me then and there. Really really inconvenient. I would suggest any other place.

I will never return to Steve's Automotive. The location is convenient so we decided to try them out. I took my car in for a simple oil change and emissions in January. After they were done I picked up my car and drove out to Sandy. I received a call from Steve's that they had left a part in my car (?) and when I told them I couldn't drive back right then (it was a blizzard) they offered to drive to Sandy to retrieve the part. When the mechanic arrived to get the part he noticed there was a huge puddle of oil underneath my car and said that they must not have put the cap on correctly so I was leaking oil. He said I had to drive back to the shop immediately. I then drove all the way back to Millcreek in a blizzard while my car was leaking oil (you could see the trail of oil wherever I drove). They replaced the cap and apologized and said they'd send me a gift card in the mail, which they never did. My husband decided to give them a second chance and they did the exact same thing to his car. They left the cap off the differential and his car leaked oil everywhere and had to be towed back to Steve's Automotive. Needless to say we will never go back and I would not recommend taking your car there.

Dirk and the team at Expertec are great! They look over and maintain all of my vehicles and always deliver in a timely manner with quality work that they stand behind and honor!
