Got told over the phone the preliminary inspection was free. Ended up having to do the “Level 2” inspection. They said it was the fuel pump and filter. Quoted me like $1,090. I declined and paid $230 for the inspection. Told them I’d move my truck asap. Same evening my buddy came and was going to tow it for me, but he wanted to try to tap lightly on the gas tank a few times with a rubber mallet and it started right up. Drove it home. Drove it this morning too. My truck works fine now. Be careful where you go. Point of the story I didn’t feel like these guys really cared about my old truck and tried to overcharge.

Drewski, thank you for your feedback as it's always appreciated. It sounds like everything we said was correct. 1) The preliminary inspection was free, as it always is. 2) The diagnostic testing which you authorized in advance was to confirm exactly what's wrong with your vehicle so you're not guessing, just like a doctor doesn't assume what's wrong with a patient before they perform surgery. This testing takes time and skill and unfortunately we can't offer it for free. 3) If you have to hit your fuel tank & fuel pump with a rubber mallet to get it started, that's fairly substantial confirmation that you have something in need of repair in order to prevent you from getting stranded or having your engine stall while driving, which could be dangerous.

Went in with some grinding noise in my car.Turned out to be my rear brake shoes has cracked. They also found that my radiator was leaking and broken as well. I probably didn’t need to get radiator done at that time, but I did to save myself down the road. Toby and Nathan are nice to work with. No one likes ha wing car problems, but when you do, you want your car back quickly. They got my radiator and brakes done the same day and my total was about $1900 (about $500 for brake shoes and the rest was the radiator, hoses, etc). I’m not sure how these guys compare price wise to others, but I use them for convenience and have overall had good experiences. (Last year my timing belt snapped in a different car and had to re-do engine ($5000, but cheaper than having to buy a car) they were helpful during the process that time as well.

Changed oil and replaced headlight bulbs. More involved than it sounds! I like that I can feel confident as a female that they are doing a great job and not taking advantage of me! I trust them to do my cars repairs.

Very friendly staff and professional. They took the time to explain details to me & not talk to me like I’m an idiot. Very thorough in checking out the overall car not just a problem you came in with. They always work hard to give me the best cost outcome. You guys are awesome! I moved to Orem but I still come all the way to the Sandy location because I know my car & know how much I depend on it for work. They always take great care of me.

Took my Audi in here to get my brakes replaced, which they were able to do. But in the process they managed to drop my car off of whatever it was on for the service… which ended up causing damage to my back drivers side door to the point that the door wouldn’t even open. They paid for the repairs but the damage is still highly noticeable. Couple of months later I go in to get an oil change. They recommended 2 new tires, so I agreed and told them to proceed. They put the WRONG size tires on my vehicle and now are recommending I come back in and get the right size. From my experience this location deserves less than 1 star, and I personally will never have a vehicle serviced her again!

Mario, it sounds like your still upset about the body damage to your Audi and were truly sorry about that. We paid to have it repaired and you told us you were satisfied with the results. If that has changed all you have to do is tell us and we'll do whatever it takes to make it right. Regarding the tires, we reviewed the digital inspection reports we had sent you and based on the records we found that we had previously replaced 2 tires and the last recommendation which you mentioned was to replace the remaining 2 tires (the 2 we didn't replace) since the tread depth on those tires are 3/32 (the point that tires should be replaced based on industry best practices). I give it only 2 stars for this service. In the past I have used them many times and would rate it 5 stars. They seemed through and honest except when I finally picked up my car after 3 weeks in the shop. They did give me a loaner car for that length of time which I appreciated. When I did pick up the car, the cashier at the front assured me that he had a senior service guy drive it around beyond a simple test drive to assure everything was fine. He said it drives like a dream. Well, as soon as I pulled out of the parking space and turned the wheel I heard a noise. As I turned around to drive it back into the space the noise what appeared to be from the steering wheel continued. When I returned to the front desk guy and began to tell him of the noise, a service guy standing next to him told me it didn't make that noise in the shop. My reply "it didn't make that noise when I brought it on 3 weeks ago." I was very very angry! They did immediately look at it and determined it was a faulty new part they put on and will order a new one. He assured me I could drive it now with no harm to the car. They will call me when they get this part in and ready to replace I do expect that it will be done the same day I bring it in and it will be soon. In my opinion Steve's Automotive should fire the service tech who lied to the front desk guy.

Nancy, I'm very sorry there was an issue when you picked up your vehicle. I wanted to add that I don't blame you for being upset because I know that given the circumstances I would have been very upset too. I inquired and discovered that someone did in fact test drive your vehicle and failed to report the noise to the advisor. It appears to have been an honest mistake and I sincerely apologize for the extra hassle it caused you. If you will allow us the opportunity we will be more than happy to do whatever it takes to make it up to you.
