Steve's Automotive has its pros and cons, the pros are they know exactly how to fix anything. They are meticulous, thorough, and honest. The cons, they aren't very careful with cars in their shop likely due to the small size of the shop they work from. I brought my car in for an AWD repair and the repair works perfectly and was clearly communicated throughout the process. The bad news is when I got the car back there was damage to the driver's side door (dented and scratched) and the hinges were misaligned so the door no longer closed smoothly. They referred me to Auto Collision which did a great job fixing the repair and Steve's paid for it as well, but I would imagine they either broke even or lost money on the job as a result of the damage to the door. While I was at Auto Collision another customer from Steve's showed up with damage to his SUV as well, so it must happen somewhat regularly or that was a major coincidence. Steve's should seriously consider building a much larger space to work from, something like a dealership's shop and then they wouldn't have to deal with this sort of thing going forward and the business would look much nicer with expanded storage and work space.
Gavin, we appreciate your feedback, both the good and the bad as it shows our team is made up of human beings who are liable to make mistakes, just like anyone else. The good news is, as you experienced, if we make a mistake we'll make it right. Regarding your implied question as to how often our client's vehicles are damaged while in the shop, I can tell you that out of the 10,000+ vehicles we service each year there is a similar incident rate of approximately 0.001% or 1/1000 of a percent. That makes the probability of something like that happening to any one particular client exceedingly small and we're truly sorry that it happened to you. Thanks again for sharing your experience and we hope you'll give us another chance to prove to you that it doesn't happen all the time!
