$184 TO DIAGNOSE YOUR CAR!! DO NOT TRUST THEM. Do your research before you go here. Where to begin. I called a couple days ago to make an appt since i dont have much time to waste going to mechanics. My appt was set for friday at 8. So i showed up at 8 and they took my car right in. Then joe came out and said we have no idea what the problem is so we will have our shuttle driver take you home and give you a call in 3 hours when we find the problem. 4 1/2 hours later i call to check the status and joe tells me his mechanic was gone and just got back and will now take a look at it. WHAT!! Isnt the point of making an appt so that there is someone there to look at it? So with his mechanic back he said give him an hour. 2 hours later joe calls me back and tells me it needs $600 Moog sway bar links. And $300 of labor So what do i do? I go on Moogs website and find that i can buy the exact same parts directly from Moog for $210. What a freaking markup. Holy crap So i tell joe i will talk with my wife and see what she wants to do. Joe hands me the quotes for work that needs to be done and i start to walk out when the cashier says your total today is $184. What!!!! $184 dollars to hold my car all day and then tell me you think you found the problem and its going to be $900 when i can go to a trustworthy shop and get the exact same thing done for $300. Unbelievable!! Such a ripoff. DIAGNOSE YOUR CAR FOR $184!!!!!! Unbelievable!! If i wanted to wast $1084 i would have just gone to the Infiniti dealer. Thanks you money hungry jerks!

Went in today without an appointment. They were very quick to get my emissions done, and had fun things to entertain my 3 kids! They were happy while I was there, so I was happy. Great place.

We know what it's like when we're at a place of business and our kids are not entertained so we strive to help make it a fun experience, thanks Tammy!

My review is based off two experiences with the company. 1st I called to get a quote for a muffler replacement. They were one of four shops that I called. All three were able to give me a straight answer on a price except for Steve’s automotive. So fair enough, might not be their forte right? Well I left my name and number so they could call me back with a quote. They never called back... Not too big a deal. Just might not be worth it to them. Then I go to ask about a tire rotation. $83... That’s $20 more than the stealership! Why would I come here over the dealership if the dealership is cheaper! I mean stealerships are notorious for over pricing their services hence the name so accurately created, stealership. However, they said they price match with a written quote but I’m never gonna go somewhere cheaper and is willing to give me a good deal and then come out of my way to provide that “written quote” here. In that case, the place that would have provided me a better deal would have earned my business. They seem like nice people and probably do a good job. This has nothing to do against any particular person or service, just reflects my experience and thoughts.

I'm very sorry we failed to earn your trust and business. First of all, I agree with you that you should have received a call back from us, lack of follow up may be common with most businesses but it is unacceptable to me in ours, so I will personally look into why that happened. Secondly, there are relevant facts that it appears you are not aware of. Since you have never actually done any business with us it's quite clear there hasn't been an opportunity for us to discuss our maintenance program with you. Our Car Care Club members save hundreds of dollars every year on the very type of maintenance being discussed here. I'm very confident that if you would've had more information you never would have written this review, or if you had it would've been a 5 star telling how much money we saved you. It's never too late though, please call me at 801-694-7936 and I'll personally prove to you how we can save you money! - Richard (Manager/Owner)

I have been taking my cars here for years, mostly because it is down the street from my house but also because they seem to know what they are doing. The past few times I have been in for an oil change they have always found some expensive repairs that need to be done. I have been getting skeptical because a couple oil changes ago they suggested, a complete coolant flush ($400 to flush out and replace some liquid). Less than a year earlier I had a completely new radiator put in and of course all the coolant was replaced at that time so I asked why I would need this expensive flush. The guy said he didn't "notice" the new radiator and said he was just going by the mileage and year of my vehicle. FAST FORWARD TO AN OIL CHANGE LAST WEEK ON MY SUBARU TRIBECA: Randy sends me a list of repairs he says is "Urgent". Says my front brakes are down to the metal and my rear brakes need replaced also. He told me that brake rotors can't really be effectively turned down in newer vehicles (complete B.S.) so I will also need new rotors. Also, a bushing on my left front control arm is cracked and needs to be replaced. He says that they won't just replace the bushing so I need a whole new control arm and a 4 wheel alignment. All repairs will cost me $1,950. I don't have a spare $2,000 just before Christmas so I take the car to another mechanic who is a 40 minute drive away but I know he was a Subaru mechanic at Subaru for 16 years and I know will be less expensive. After he looks it over he tells me my front brakes look nearly new. He sends me a photo of the pads and they are at nearly 90% thickness. He also tells me the rear pads really don't need to be replaced for a while either. I ask him about the rotors and he said he measured them and will be able to machine them down no problem. The control arm? He tells me that when he was at Subaru they replaced those bushings all the time with no problems. If the control arm is damaged he would replace it but mine is fine so just replaced the bushing. Total cost for everything will by $335. So if you like being lied to, overcharged for things you can have done less expensively other places and told you need services that you really don't, Steve's is your place. I suggest going pretty much anywhere else. They are obviously the kind of mechanic you dread, trying to prey on people who don't know better and overcharging for services you don't even need. Some people have no shame and are just greedy liars.

I've been going here regularly since moving to the neighborhood. One good thing I can say is that they offer a pretty good discount program. That being said, they ALWAYS seem to charge more than I'm used to. For instance, last time I went the guy (Randy?) said I needed to use full synthetic oil because that is what Volvo recommends - it was $200 bucks but because they told me I needed it I went along with it. I find out later that Volvo does NOT recommend full synthetic, in fact they recommend normal oil. There have been several instances of that type of thing - well we ran tests that cost $150, then we fixed the car, and now we need tp charge you another $150 to test it to make sure it is okay. I'll be going elsewhere from now on...

Friendly staff and they offer a shuttle to take you home once you drop your car off so that's pretty great

I can just walking and they take care of my car right away the mechanic explains to me every single thing what was wrong with my car and give prizes and I like that.

I have loved their customer service, they always take care of me and keep me informed of my vehicle’s status. Thanks guys! :)
