I am rating at 2 because of the pricing model. My service was well and good, however the price was steep, and they seemed to find much more that needed fixing than I went in for. I took my car to the dealer later in the week to get a recall fixed as well as to ask for their multi point inspection to see how they compared. Steve's automotive found a lot more that needed fixing. The two reports found one thing in common, and to fix that thing Steve's automotive was asking $1800, the dealer (who is notorious for higher prices on average) was at $1040. That is an $800 difference. I also needed a window regulator fixed and Steve's was asking $600 for the fix, when the dealer was $450. Now Steve's automotive tries to justify this pricing based off of value, however I have a hard time seeing how compared to a dealer they bring more value. Especially when the part for my window fix was a dealer only part meaning the part would have been the same whether I got it from Steve's or the Dealer. Since that is the case the difference in price would mainly come down to labor and other charges. So in this case Steve's was not offering more value nor any other special treatment, yet they were $150 more for my window fix. My theory goes back to the overhead they likely install in the cost. Two nice facilities, and one of them with a new remodel and new equipment means more overhead for Steve's business, and unfortunately the way business works is that someone has to pay for the overhead, so it gets slapped to the customers.

Travis, thank you for your review. Believe it or not we appreciate even the 1-star and 2-star reviews. They help us understand how good of a job we're doing and especially how well we communicate with our clients. I'm very confident that if we performed a true apples to apples comparison that our pricing would not be as far apart from the dealership as you've stated. Speaking of communication, it sounds like we failed to make you aware that we can match any legitimate estimate provided we perform the job the exact same way, with the same parts, and provide the same warranty. In the extremely competitive world of auto service it's important for all consumers to be aware that phone quotes are dangerously inaccurate and that dealerships in an aggressive push to compete with independent shops don't always offer the best parts or warranties. So, the bottom line is that the game of comparing price isn't so simple. Also, the fact that our inspection provided you with more information about what your vehicle really needs than the dealer's inspection does not reflect well on the dealership. Conversely, it proves that our mechanics are better trained and more qualified. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions. I originally decided to come here based on the great reviews however, my experience was less than satisfactory. I made an appointment only to show up in person and be told that I needed to reschedule because their best person who diagnoses issues wasn’t in (there could’ve been a phone call or text to let me know instead of having me waste my time). Rescheduled my appointment again. Received a call later in the day saying the techs couldn’t find anything but it being an autosource car they just wanted to cut it loose/have nothing to do with it. I know others have had 5* experiences and I was hopeful as well but was sorely disappointed. ***Not to mention while waiting in the lobby early in the morning, the crews language was vulgar and demeaning towards other customers vehicles that were brought in prior to mine. Makes me think what did they say about me and my vehicle while I was gone.

Caleb, first of all thank you for your feedback and please know that I'm sorry you had to reschedule your appointment. We don't always have advance notice when an employee may call in sick or have an emergency come up, nevertheless, it doesn't change the fact that this is still terribly inconvenient for you. Secondly, sometimes there isn't a lot we can do with an intermittent problem when it doesn't present itself or leave any clues behind. Now, as far as us wanting to 'cut it loose', I'm going to find and listen to your phone call so I can understand exactly what was said because that doesn't make any sense to me. Our business is to fix cars regardless of who made it, who sold it, or who drives it. Finally, we expect our team members to present themselves and act professionally at all times and in any part of the shop they may be in. We do constant training with our teams and I will personally make it a point of focus to ensure our team members understand that kind of behavior is not only unprofessional but unacceptable. We strive to provide great service and most of the time we get it right, however, in those cases where we don't we're willing to do whatever it takes to make it right. I called Steve's Automotive Specialists for a steering problem I had. The service manager listened to my b issue, explained my options, and then recommended I go to a dealer because my issue was under warranty. I really appreciated his time and honesty, even though he was losing the repair job to a dealer! I highly recommend him, he is someone who is honest and trustworthy!

Pay attention to the bad reviews i didnt pay attention to them and 4000$ later and still having problems with the car that supposely the warranty covers.now they want to charger 600 more to fix something they messed up.never using or referring this place THIEVES.

Elsie, I'm sure anyone would be upset if they spent nearly $4,000 and still had issues with their vehicle, I know I would be. The good news is that we stand behind our work 100%. Also, we follow scientific diagnostic methods and document all of our testing and repairs. I spoke with our advisor and discovered that the current issue with your vehicle is intermittent and due to this fact we were not able to confirm the cause of it. Until we know why it's occurring the next step is unknown, which means neither you or I can say whether it was the result of a previous repair or completely unrelated, and I certainly wouldn't recommend spending a penny until we know the true cause. We're willing to test your vehicle at no charge to discover the cause of the issue but we need the problem to be occurring while we're testing, which it wasn't when you brought it in last. I initially brought my Dodge Dart in to have a coolant leak diagnosed and fixed, it was determined that there was a hole in my coolant reservoir, pictures were sent to me and it was replaced. The coolant leak persisted almost immediately, culminating in me spending nearly six hours trying to make a 50 minute drive. It had to be towed back to the shop and sat in the parking lot over Labor Day weekend. Tuesday morning it was determined that this time the radiator was leaking, no pictures were sent. I agreed to the recommended replacement. It took about a day and a half and I assumed the issue had been resolved. I made it almost to state street from 700 east when the temperature spiked and I was forced to pull over. The coolant reservoir was completely empty. I filled it to the line and after two more stops doing the same routine, I eventually made it home. I was asked to bring it back in tomorrow morning and I told the gentleman on the phone know that I will not be spending another cent in this shop. This will be the third time it has been in to fix the same issue. Upon further inspection of both receipts I was given the “Odometer In” and “Odometer out “ mileage is the same, meaning the vehicle was not driven to determine if the issue was actually fixed. I am absolutely livid that I have to take more time off of work for this. Three attempts to properly diagnose and fix a vehicle is ridiculous.

I am so glad I brought my Volkswagen Jetta to Steve's Automotive! The Mechanics are amazing!! I had an engine light turn on and at first they said they would have to do a lot more testing to determine what is exactly going on which would cost A LOT of money but after constant communication they figured out my system went screwy because the battery died a few days before. They didn't Charge me a dime for this inspection, they also gave me a few things I should get done for my car whenever I feel (or have money for) I really like how they keep you updated constantly with photos so you can see what they are doing! I am really impressed with the service and quality of these guys. I will defiantly be back if I have any other issues with my cars!
