While steeves does some good work, a few dramatically bad experiences has lost them our business. Steeves does good work, but don't ask anything too complicated from them. In the years that we brought them our cars, we had issues from them ranging from charging $1500 to fix a problem without fixing the cause (with the problem then returning a month later, as the cause wasn't fixed), to bringing a car in 4 times within a year and a half with A/C problems, which they never properly fixed. One time, they even blew up an engine after getting the timing belt wrong! Of course- they did offer rental cars and to write a check for the worth of the car, or to rebuild the engine totally free of cost. Even had troubles with a car worked on, to later find out their specialist for a specific german brand had been out of town, so their Honda guy worked on it instead. TLDR: Steeves provides honest work. It was only good part of the time- when their work was good, it was great! But they didn't handle complex repairs or diagnostics well. They made their mistakes right in every sense and way, but the mistakes shouldn't have happened in the first place. Their mechanics feel 'clumsy'. Keep in mind all of these experiences are 2-3 years old. Their service quality may have changed since then.
Alex, I'm truly sorry to hear we lost your confidence. I will not pretend we never make mistakes because that simply wouldn't be true, however, I will say that most of the time we do get it right and we guarantee 100% client satisfaction for those times we don't. It seems you feel that mistakes should never happen in the first place and you're not the only one who feels that way. I wish it were possible that we never made mistakes as well. Today's vehicles are extremely complex and as a result today's mechanics are required to be much more than just a mechanic, they also have to be a plumber, an electrician, a computer and IT specialist, as well as a diagnostic technician. Our teams are continuously training and getting better. We fix many things that other shops and dealerships can not fix. Almost daily we have new clients come to us because they've had similar experiences as you've mentioned at other shops and dealerships and they're hoping we can do it better. Our promise is that we'll do everything we can to get it right the first time and if for any reason we don't, we're going to do whatever it takes to make it right. So Alex, I suppose the conclusion is that you're right, we're not perfect, but we do feel great about the fact that we have integrity and we're committed to getting better every day, thank you for your feedback!
