Steve's has been my wife's go-to for a while now and this was my first interaction with them. These folks took a coupon for a $29 synthetic blend (dirt cheap, I know) and charged me $70 to do full synth instead (after a phone quote for $50). Like... y'all. I can go to the Walmart a mile from you and buy 5 quarts for you to throw in on top of the $29 and still save money. Great service, a dizzying number of upsells, and they'll rob you blind if you let them. (I let them; I'm spoiled from doing my own oil changes on Subaru so my wife's MINI feels like a PITA -- but I'll def be looking around for a shop that's a bit more ethical.)
It sounds like there was definitely a misunderstanding on the coupon price and I'm very sorry this didn't get resolved at the time you paid, as it seems this may be the primary issue here. The good news is that it's not too late to fix that, just call me and I promise we'll get it taken care of immediately. Regarding your other comments, it's important for all of our clients to understand that when we perform a mileage maintenance service we don't just change the oil, that's not what any manufacturer recommends. Rather, they recommend inspecting the vehicle for any safety or maintenance concerns that will help keep the vehicle in a safe and reliable condition, and it's failing to do this that would be unethical. It then becomes our professional responsibility to inform you of these items and let you decide for yourself whether you want to take any action on them or not. - Richard (Owner) 801-694-7936
