Very honest. Came with a problem a dealership told me I had and Steve's Automotive was able to tell me that the same part I was told needed replacement was in good condition and had just been replaced. Will def go back if I ever have problems with my vehicle again.

Steves is the BOMB! Richard is very good at filling you in about your car! People dont understand that everybody makes mistakes and do things wrong sometimes. These guys do there best everytime and if they do mess up they correct it. you can trust these guys!

I go to Steve's because I know that I can trust them. After a local car dealer turned my car down on an inspection and gave me a list of needed repairs (about $1,000 worth), I took it to Steve. He looked at it and reviewed the list and then told me that he couldn't find anything wrong. The car passed inspection. They have always treated me well on pricing and give me a list of suggested maintenance items that I can do myself (or, of course they will do them if I wish).

My experience at Steve's was very good. They did not try to upsell me or force me into any service that I didn't need. It was very quick and painless. Their building could use a little updating but that is not the most important thing to me at an auto shop.

Only an oil change and hey my oil is changed, staff was friendly. Knocking 2 stars off because there is a SLC (county and city) mandate on masks and not one of their staff was wearing one. Yes Im that annoying dude, but seriously it's for your protection and mine, you encounter a ton of people a day please be considerate of your customers. Customer service is as important as work performed and in today's climate you failed.

I was looking for a new mechanic as I've had bad experiences with mechanics in the past. Check engine light came on in the van and decided I didn't want to deal with it. Took it in and they found the problem to be the oil pressure sensor. They quoted me $700 more to replace the sensor. I said no, paid the $200 for their diagnostic, took the van home and had the new sensor installed in less than 30 minutes and $50 in parts. I think they mean well but they tried to take advantage of me and take my money. Maybe it was just another bad experience, but I am still looking for a trustworthy mechanic. Kelton, it sounds like you're saying that if you can perform your own repair and can save a significant amount of money compared to what a mechanic or professional shop would charge, that the mechanic or shop is not trustworthy. After thinking about your review for a while I had my wife read it. After reading your comments her first reaction was "Wow, what a big difference in price!" I then explained to her all the reasons why there's a big difference in price, and after evaluating both perspectives she said I can understand why a professional shop would have to charge a lot more, it makes sense, but if I didn't know everything you just told me I think I'd feel the same way this person does. So, here are some of the reasons why a professional mechanic or shop charges more than what you'd pay if you fix it yourself. First of all, to be able to service the latest vehicles we have to pay for and maintain a state of the art facility. We have to buy hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of tools, equipment, and software. We have to pay a host of government fees and taxes. We have to employ a team of people to answer phones, attend counters, advise clients, and repair vehicles. We have to pay for multiple types of insurance to legally conduct business. The list doesn't end here, it's just the beginning. Our company has been in business for over 40 years and we've always charged a fair, reasonable, and competitive price for the value we offer to our clients. My wife helped me realize that I can't expect all of our clients to have a business owners perspective because they may have never owned or operated their own business and even if they have they may not be familiar with the incredible cost involved in running an auto repair business. I appreciate the fact that you are able to repair your own vehicle and may not want to spend the extra money to have someone else fix it. I appreciate your review because it has reminded me that looking at things from another person's perspective can help me understand why they feel or think the way they do. I called about having a diagnostic done on my Jeep and they made an appointment but didn't tell me they charge $175 just to look at the engine. I'll pass and go to another garage.

Christopher, we always start with a free initial evaluation to verify the problem, gather important relevant information, and for more involved issues determine the next step in identifying the cause. Since that can't be done over the phone it seems reasonable to have an appointment. Now, once the vehicle's in the shop, if the cause of the issue can't be quickly or easily confirmed, there are really only two options at that point. Option 1: Perform a professional scientific diagnosis to determine the cause, which helps you avoid the uncertain and expensive exercise of replacing parts that may or may not be bad. Although this does require a small investment up front it saves a lot of time and money in the end because the right part gets replaced the first time. Option 2: Guess. There are shops and consumers that prefer the guessing method usually because the diagnostic fees are either very low or $0, and they should be. After all, why should you pay someone to guess when you can just Google it and do that yourself. I'm very sorry our team was unable to help you see the value of professional service, especially considering the fact that most of our clients come to us and give us 5-star reviews for the very reason your giving us a 1-star. Finally, we have no hard feelings toward you and wish you the best in getting your issue resolved!

Steve's gets a big thumbs up from me! I took my car in for an oil chg and tire rotation using a discount coupon. After waiting for about 30 min. they told me their lift wasn't working, and told me I could come back for a free oil chg and tire rotation in a few days, which I did. They were very pleasant to work with and I still have the coupon to use in the future. Service: Oil change
