I have gone to the same mechanic for 20 years. I always got a good price, professional customer service and never left unhappy. I recently moved to sandy and didn’t want to drive the 25 miles to my mechanic. I gave Steve’s auto shop a try after a referral and all I can say is they totally won me over. I am aware of issues that come up with cars. My AC needed refrigeration refill and Steve’s took care of me at a good price. I really liked that they send a full diagnostic with what the vehicle manufacturers recommend. When I went to pick my car up they let me talk to the mechanic and HE ACTUALLY LISTENED TO MY CONCERNS it was amazing. They won me over by far which says a lot for a loyal customer of 20 years.

It’s such a scam my other mechanic was busy and would have done the same stuff for a 1/4 of the price. they kept making up things that were wrong and sent me a comparison of how it should have been and they looked exactly the same. charged me $140 just to look at it not even a deductible where other mechanics would have done it for free. jiffylube would have even done a better job and that’s saying something.

Steve’s Auto was very patient and persevered in diagnosing my car. As usual, my car wouldn’t act up for the mechanic. Finally, the check engine light came on, the car threw a code, and they were able pinpoint the problem a bit closer. Then, it was a matter of drilling down a bit more to figure out which part of two was the problem. Parts took a good minute to arrive. I finally got the good news call and was back on the road with confidence. They have earned my respect and trust. I would definitely take my car there again.

Every time I spoke with them on the phone, they added another repair that needed to be done. $400 to $900 at a time. If I had done all that they said "needed" to be done, I could have bought a new car! I felt like I was talking to a used car salesman. Slimy. Lies. Does it really take 4 hours to hook a car up to a diagnostic machine? Does it really take a different hook up to the diagnostic machine for each problem they are looking at? They said that parts needed to be replaced that had recently been replaced by other mechanics. When I questioned it, I was told they put on a "heavy duty part" this time. Sounded like a rehearsed, pat answer to me. When I complained I was "handled." They let me blow off steam, but offered no solutions, no real answers. Just repeated the same pat answer I had been told before. It was my first and last time taking a car to Steve's Automotive. Bad experience all around.

Had to have a oxygen sensor replaced, job was done quickly and the price was fair.
