Every time I spoke with them on the phone, they added another repair that needed to be done. $400 to $900 at a time. If I had done all that they said "needed" to be done, I could have bought a new car! I felt like I was talking to a used car salesman. Slimy. Lies. Does it really take 4 hours to hook a car up to a diagnostic machine? Does it really take a different hook up to the diagnostic machine for each problem they are looking at? They said that parts needed to be replaced that had recently been replaced by other mechanics. When I questioned it, I was told they put on a "heavy duty part" this time. Sounded like a rehearsed, pat answer to me. When I complained I was "handled." They let me blow off steam, but offered no solutions, no real answers. Just repeated the same pat answer I had been told before. It was my first and last time taking a car to Steve's Automotive. Bad experience all around.

Had to have a oxygen sensor replaced, job was done quickly and the price was fair.

Tyce did an excellent job! It's refreshing to see someone willing to take care of people. Communication was on point! I'll definitely try to use these guys in the future!

Theres obviously a big majority of mechanics that try to take advantage of people who don't know about cars but these guys take the cake! Went there for an oil change and they called me with a whole list of "problems" my car had. Told me I need a whole new set of tires when I got them very recently. To top it all off when we went to pay they tried to charge me $30 extra. Embarassing. Do better.

I will never go to another auto shop after the amazing experience and customer service they've shown. We've taken out cars there for a few years now but it was this recent example of something that wasn't done right and the way they went out of their way to fix it that won me over. They handled the issue quickly, professionally and with excellent customer service. Thank you, Shane and Jeremy!

Brought my car in for a loud noise while idling and asked if they'd check out why my electric locks weren't working on 2 of my doors as well, they called to let me know that the noise was from my serpentine tensioner and told me it'd be $800. I expressed my concerns about the cost but they said it was essential, so I gave them the go ahead. They failed to mention that $200 of that quote was to diagnose the issue with my door locks. The locks were a minor inconvenience, so if I had any idea it would be that much, I would have asked them to nix the diagnosis and save myself $200 and them a few hours of their time. I've never had a mechanic fail to communicate how much a diagnostic would cost before going through with it, or have the lack of common sense and decency to assume that most people (especially a young broke grad student who's driving an old car like myself) would not want to go through with an expensive diagnostic for something non-essential. Just overall not impressed with such a poor level of communication and failure to break down the cost of all the work they were quoting me for until after I was billed.
