Called ahead got a quote for the repair. Was told $480. I was doing this as a favor for a friend since he was in surgery. They called confirming That indeed was the problem. Went onto telling me all the extra stuff they were going to do ended up being over $1400. I am very familure with the repair. I asked why it was so much higher than quoted and he went on to tell me what each item costs. Sorry but this is something I could have done myself but didn't have the time. The mechanic isn't honest with part costs. The mechanic told me all that was involved and he was incorrect on them. Ended up picking up vehicle and taking to a shop I trusted. I knew these guys were new, figured I give them a shot. Over priced, said I needed parts that were not necessary. I personally talked to the owner as they were putting my friends Chevy S10 truck back together, so I can load it on a trailer. Shop around people, places like to sell products that are not needed. Ended up costing me $480 from a shop a few miles away, truck is running great zero issues. Was quoted the exact price as these guys with no up sells from them. I found an honest shop! Steve's Auto didn't have my name as the owner of the Vehicle. But they had my name as contact info. This is a legit complaint.
Chad, since we don't have your phone number on file I invited you to call me 2 1/2 years ago when you initially left this review and I promised you that we would resolve your concerns. It seems that if you had a legitimate concern you would have called, but you never did. It sounds like our pricing is competitive because you had another shop do the same job for the same price that we quoted and that perhaps the real issue is that you simply didn't want to believe that the vehicle could possibly need any other service other than what you wanted it to need. If you would genuinely like to resolve this you are still welcome to call me at 801-694-7936, thank you! - Richard (Owner)
